Kephera Diagnostics is a startup that aims to address the public health challenges of global infectious diseases with point of care assay technology. They collaborate with a global community of researchers to develop and translate new technologies into accessible products for clinical diagnostics and research applications, and hosted a logo design contest in late 2018 to get their branding off the ground.
The company is named after the ancient Egyptian god Khepri, often depicted as a scarab or scarab-faced being, representative of creation and the renewal of life. This was a key requirement in the brief, the client asking for a minimal interpretation of the scarab beetle which could be subsequently applied to all printed and digital communication including packaging design for medical appliances.
Since winning the initial design contest, we have gone on to work with Kephera Diagnostics on a number of occasions, most recently creating their packaging design and net for branded viral antigen test kits. After being approved as a CLIA certified laboratory by the Massachusetts Dept of Public Health and the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Kephera Diagnostics are now upscaling their Massachusetts-based production of COVID-19 antibody and antigen testing kits.
