Supporting businesses founded through the University of Huddersfield Enterprise Placement programme is always a pleasure for us, which is why we were so excited to get on board when approached by James Seal, product designer.
James' specialism lies in product design for the medical sector, but he didn't want his brand to be restricted to this particular industry. A clear feeling of professionalism, modernity and contrast were essential from the start. James mentioned a fondness of our previous work and gave us some great direction to start out, then we helped him establish a brand name and develop his logo from the ground-up.
The logo design was founded in a very rough sketch that James drew earlier on in the project, which we then recreated and confined to a strict geometric structure to ensure balance and evenness across the motif.
Olse is a combination of two personal elements to James; 'Ol-' from his hometown of Old Newton in Suffolk, and '-se' from the beginning of his surname, Seal. The resulting moniker was perfect for what James was after, and the brand now continues to flourish as an exciting, vibrant and dynamic product design consultancy.
