iobase posted a competition brief in early 2020 to design their new brand identity as an online retailer of audiovisual (AV) equipment and accessories. Their platform would be primarily app-focused and the brand name comes from the abbreviation IO, meaning input/output as used in audiovisual technologies. The brief asked for the combination of letters AV to reflect their specialism in audiovisual, as well as a suggestion of trade or selling.


Despite unfortunately not winning the competition, our proposal merged the initials of audiovisual alongside opposing arrows representitive of an exchange, as requested in the brief through a palette of ultrabright turquoise and a deeper royal blue, fitting for a technologically-focused brand.
